2010 Easter Messiah Sing Along
This year's Messiah Sing Along will be held on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at 7:00 PM for a pre-Easter event. What better way to prepare for an Easter celebration than to sing Handel's expression of the Saviour's atonement and resurrection? It promises to be an uplifting and edifying experience for everyone in attendance.
John Jorgensen will be conducting with Kim Croft at the organ, plus a wonderful line up of orchestra and soloists. We invite everyone to this wonderful evening of music and love, whether to sing or listen to some of the greatest music ever written about the greatest event of heaven and earth.
See the following post for the Easter Messiah selections, then click on the side practice links for rehearsal. Be sure to bring your scores, though we will have some available to check out. We will have just a few scores available to purchase at cost the night of the sing along. The full vocal score is $10.50 and the choruses- only score is $8.50.
Bring your family, friends and neighbors! We look forward to seeing all of you there and wish you a a joyous and faith building Easter observance.

Messiah Sing Along 2009
Sorry it has taken me so long to post this year's info. Unfortunately, director Bob is dealing with a severe shoulder problem (conductor's shoulder?) and is looking at an impending shoulder replacement in the very near future. We will miss him terribly this year and wish him the very best in this endeavor.
It has been proposed by our Stake President to have our Sing Along the Sunday BEFORE Easter in 2010. That would be March 28, 2010. Several things have to be confirmed in order for this to happen, so I promise to keep you updated here as things move along. As for now, there is no Lynnwood Messiah Sing Along in December of 2009 or in January of 2010.
Feel free to email me on this blog with any questions or comments you may have. I look forward to seeing you all at our next Sing Along. I pray you will have a wondrous Christmas Season as you celebrate the birth of our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. May His spirit bless you with love for the present and hope for the future.
Take care,
Patty

BOB RETURNS
Ready for something to do in January?
We are so pleased to announce that Bob Metzger will be returning to Lynnwood to conduct our rescheduled Sing-Along on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at 7pm. We will also be able to enjoy our loyal soloists and orchestra for this wonderful evening.
To make your sing-along experience better than ever, be sure to take advantage of the practice site links here on this blog. We will have scores to loan the night of the performance, plus a few copies available to purchase that night for my cost of $7.95. Come early to get your copy. It is definitely an advantage to have your own copy for practicing during the year. You might also check Kennely Keys and Capitol Music for score availabilty.
We look forward to seeing you on the 18th and happy singing!

Sing-Along Postponed
Due to the VERY inclement weather, our beloved sing-along has been postponed to January. The date will be announced as soon as it is scheduled. Unfortunately, conductor Bob (Metzger) will be unable to return for the event, as airline tickets are costly. We will miss him greatly and hope to have him again at some point in the future.
I will have 15 new vocal scores available for purchase for $7.95 (my cost) at the event. Since the on-line practice sites are audio only, you can follow along with the words if you have your own score. I encourage you to consider having your own copy for future performances.
Please have a safe and very happy, joyful Christmas. I hope to see you all in January!

WELCOME!
Christmas is coming and it's time to prepare for the upcoming Lynnwood Stake Messiah Sing-Along! This year's date is Sunday, December 21, 2008 at 7:00 PM at the Lynnwood Stake Center. Our guest conductor will be returning from last year's delightful performance for a second season, wonderful Robert Metzger, former conductor of the Choir of the Sound. We anticipate another exciting event with full orchestra and soloists. Something new this year is the opportunity to link to a practice site for separate voices of each chorus. Whether you want to learn from the beginning or just brush up on a few sections, click on the appropriate side bar link and you will be well on your way to becoming a Messiah "proficient". In any case, the better you know the music-the more enjoyable the sing-along will be. The list of conductor's choices for this year's choruses are posted for your convenience. Check this blog site often for more news and updates. Please feel free to post a comment for questions, ideas or suggestions. Happy singing!
